Technology has come a long way in dental care, paving the way for attractive and long-lasting results in addition to increased patient comfort and fewer visits to the dentist.

At the office of Pleasant Valley Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry, we use the latest and most technologically advanced equipment to better serve our patients. Part of our advanced “tool set” is Sirona’s new CEREC®, which stands for Ceramic Reconstruction — a sophisticated system of designing the highest quality of customized dental crowns in as little as a single visit to our office.

CEREC utilizes 3D photography and advanced technologies to assist us in designing a virtual restoration – such as an onlay, inlay, crown or bridge — without the discomfort of messy dental impressions. Restorations look outstanding, last a long time, and are biocompatible and metal-free.

While traditional impressions are often a messy process, using a goop-like substance to make a mold of your teeth, CEREC takes clean, efficient, optical scans so we can analyze your bite and digitally design a dental crown to the exact shade, shape, and proportions most suitable for your smile. The CEREC crown is then sent to our in-office milling machine for fabrication. Beginning with a solid block of the highest dental grade ceramic, carefully matched to the shade of your neighboring teeth, the milling machine sculpts your custom crown with the utmost precision. One of the remarkable things about CEREC technology is that it saves you the need for wearing a temporary crown and waiting weeks for your permanent restoration to arrive.
